Challenge
Founded in 1975, SCIDpda is a community development organization and steward of Seattle’s Chinatown International District (CID). For its 50th anniversary, how might we visually celebrate SCIDpda’s legacy, showcase its community impact, and highlight the CID’s vibrancy across past, present, and future generations?

Solution
To celebrate SCIDpda’s 50th anniversary, I created an uplifting, dynamic illustrative campaign featuring iconic CID landmarks—like the Bush Hotel, Hing Hay Park, and lamp posts—alongside writing scrolls and national flowers representing the neighborhood’s diverse Asian communities. Warm, energetic colors and gold textures honor SCIDpda’s legacy while reflecting the CID’s welcoming spirit. The campaign amplifies SCIDpda’s mission of neighborhood preservation and creates an immersive, multi-generational experience across gala invitations, digital ads, online donations, and the in-person fundraising event.

Measure of Success

The campaign’s cohesive branding and engaging visuals contributed to a sold-out gala and generated over $200K in donations across both event and digital channels. The experiential installation received full participation from attendees, providing SCIDpda with a clear demonstration of community appreciation for their 50-year legacy. The client praised the campaign for its ability to capture the spirit of the CID, celebrate SCIDpda’s impact, and create an immersive, multi-generational experience.
