Challenge
Design a publication that authentically showcases the stories and creative work of Asian American women through balanced, approachable layouts that invite readers of all ages to connect.

Solution
The design focuses on creating visually balanced and elegant layouts that are easy to follow, allowing photography and storytelling to take center stage. Intentional white space and a cohesive grid system establish a calm rhythm that enhances readability across all ages. The layout also includes a note-taking section, enabling readers to jot down thoughts and bookmark moments of inspiration. This publication feels both intimate and refined—celebrating the voices of Asian American women while maintaining clarity and visual harmony.

Measure of Success
Following its launch on July 28, 2021, My People Magazine sold over 200 copies in its first week and raised more than $7,000 in support of CIDBIA, contributing to public safety and local businesses in Seattle’s Chinatown–International District.
